Project Overview

The Syrian crisis is the biggest humanitarian crisis in the world since World War II.

According to Humanitarian Needs Overview in 2018:
Six years of conflict have severely disabled health system in Syria, which left less than half of facilities completely in service, and that caused thousands of deaths

According to Humanitarian Response Plan in 2018:

Health condition in Syria kept deteriorating during 2016; more than 12.6 million people need life-saving medical help. At the same time, lack of available staff, medical materials, and damaged infrastructure obstruct providing life-saving health care.
It’s been 8 years of crisis and the conditions in Syria keep deteriorating. More than half of Syrian citizens have fled from their homes. 60% of people need medical help. More than half of public health facilities are either closed or partially working.

Health services and facilities have were continuously attacked in 2016, during that year, more than 105 attacks of hospitals and health care centres were recorded in Syria. 14 workers have been killed and 40 others were wounded.

Attacking and targeting health facilities threaten lives of health workers as well as patients which lead to closing services, and all residents were affected by that

Project Services

Losing main facilities services, including electricity, fuel, drinking water, and main sewerage services increased spread of diseases, such as: diarrhea, typhoid, Hepatitis A, in addition to other diseases that can be avoided by vaccination

Reliable & Experienced

The project highly matches/corresponds to Humanitarian Response Plan and Humanitarian Needs Overview in 2018, that is because:

  • It targets most needy categories especially babies and new-born infants who don’t have secure access to life-saving services.
  • It supports the first priority in health sector which is saving lives and offering humanitarian and health aid with focusing on more in need and more dangerous cases.
  • The project targets an area that is very crowded with local citizens and displaced people, a large number of them live in camps
