Abu Kareem Family

Abu Kareem family became a productive family because of "Good Earning" project.

When we moved to another home where poverty and deprivation are prevailing, we met "Basil" who worked as a driver before being injured by a fragment which resulted in amputation of his right arm and removal of spleen. In addition, it affected his lungs.

In fact, the 9-member family suffered a lot, they were below poverty line, even electricity and water cut off their home so they lived in darkness

This family had no other choice but to ask for help from their neighbors to give them water. Moreover, and because of being under tough circumstances such as displacement because of continuous bombardment in addition to the deteriorating health condition of the family breadwinner, Basil's family was classified as afflicted family.

Based on that, Insan Care organisation team supported and helped the family through "Be productive" project which offers families suitable jobs to suffice them.

With help from his wife and the project's profits which reached around 130usd per month, brother Basil was able to expand his project by bringing foodstuff, canned food, nuts, and honey to his shop.

At the end, brother Basil succeeded, with Allah's help, in bringing all types of fruits and vegetables so the shop became a small supermarket that contains almost everything

Basil said: "My success started when I went to work and stopped isolating myself. I did not forget the tough conditions that I went through, as a result I sell with a small amount of profit considering poor people. And I give some of the profit, around 10 usd mobthly, to my siblings. I consider my success story of this project and helping others as a type of Islamic solidarity and achieving benefit for everyone"
